TIPS FOR THE NAVIGATION SYSTEM
UPDATING THE MAP DATA AUTOMATICALLY
USING Wi-Fi®
1.
Follow "STEPS 1 to 3" in "UPDATING THE MAP DATA
MANUALLY USING Wi-Fi®". (→P.185)

Automatic Update
Select

Set "Update maps automatically (at most 8 maps can be
selected)".
4.
Select the regions that you would like to be updated.
5.
After the updates have been completed, turn the ignition
switch to the "LOCK"/"OFF" position and exit the vehicle.
6.
Close the driver's door and lock the doors, then move at
least 10 feet (3 m) away from the vehicle to prevent the key
from interfering.
7.
After at least 5 minutes have elapsed, start the engine
again.
● The new map data will be applied.

UPDATING THE MAP DATA MANUALLY USING A
SMARTPHONE
If the system cannot connect to a Wi-Fi® network, the map data
can be updated using a smartphone. Map update data can be
downloaded to a smartphone from outside of the vehicle, such
as at home, and then transferred to the system to perform the
map data update.
When updating the map data using a smartphone, the SUBARU
STARLINK application must be installed on the smartphone.
NOTE
When using a cellular network to download map update data, only
l
regions with updates which are 30 MB or less can be downloaded.
To download updates using a cellular network, it is necessary to turn
the mobile data communication setting on the SUBARU STARLINK
application on.
