Checking the Network Communication
By using the PING command standard to Windows, it is possible to check whether the connection is correct and that
communication can be made from the PC to KA-DV350.
1.
Launch the command prompt.

Input the following and press the Enter key.
PING xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
(xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx is the IP address of the other party)
Input example: When the IP address of the other party is
"192.168.0.10"
PING 192.168.0.010

Check to see that the other party is successfully displayed.
If connection is not successful, "Request timed out" or "Desti-
nation host unreachable" message will appear.

Using the QuickTime Streaming Server

The QuickTime Streaming Server (QTSS) is the streaming distribution server of QuickTime, based on RTP/RTSP and
HTTP protocol. Click on [BROADCAST SETUP] on the left part of the Streamcorder window to display the [QTSS
BROADCAST SETUP] menu for use in broadcast-related setups.

• When the connected client PC is not a server equipped with the DHCP function, set [DHCP] to "OFF".
• Set the item [STREAM TYPE] in the [ENCODE SETUP] menu of the GY-DV300 to "for QT".
• Set different IP addresses in the same domain to the GY-DV300, QuickTime stream server and client PC.
• The GY-DV300, QuickTime stream server and client PC should be given the same net mask.
• Use a CAT-5 straight cable for the connection.
• If the client PC is installed in a distant location and should access the QuickTime stream server through the
Internet, the network environment of the PC should be capable of accessing the QuickTime stream server. For any
questions, please consult your network administrator.
• Set the network connection of the client PC to "No proxy server". If information on this setting is required in case of
trouble, refer to the LAN connection proxy server setup.
