Indoor unit installation

6.1 General

The following connections need to be established on the indoor
unit:
Flow / return of the heating system
Safety valve outflow
Power supply
Domestic hot water pipe
Cold water pipe
Power supply
Split refrigerant pipe

6.2 Removing the cover panels

The front panels of the indoor unit must be removed to gain ac-
cess to the hydraulic and electrical connections that must be
established during installation.
CAUTION!
Before opening the device, ensure that all electric circuits are
disconnected from the power supply.
CAUTION!
Make sure that the components in the power box do not get
wet and that the cover is securely attached after installation.

Schritt 1
Unscrew the two screws (1) holding the two sides of
the upper front panel.
Schritt 2
Push front panel A upwards and then pull it out.
Schritt 3
Push front panel B upwards and then pull it out.
Schritt 4
Push front panel C upwards and then pull it out.
Schritt 5
Unscrew the two screws that hold the top.
Schritt 6
Push out the cover plate and pull it upwards to re-
move it.
NOTE
Disconnect the cable from the user interface by unplugging
the cable connector from the circuit board connector on the
rear of the user interface.
NOTE
Make sure that the cable access covers are properly closed
before making plumbing connections.

6.3 Connection on heating side

The heating system connections on the indoor unit have a 3/4"
flat sealing external thread. A spanner must be used to firmly
grip the transitions when making the connections.
A flexible hose is fitted to the rear of the indoor unit to collect
any drain water from the heating coil PRV (Pressure Relief
Valve) or the cold water inlet ERV (Expansion Relief Valve). The
flexible hose must be routed to a suitable drain point in accord-
ance with the requirements of the building regulations. This
hose must be fed into a syphon or drain with the extension re-
quired on-site.
Before connecting the heating water system to the heat pump,
the heating system must be flushed to remove any impurities,
residue from sealants, etc.
CAUTION!
Any accumulation of deposits in the liquefier may cause the
heat pump to completely break down.
Once the heat pump has been connected to the heating sys-
tem, it must be filled, purged and pressure-tested.
The following points must be observed when filling the system:
Untreated filling water and make-up water must be of
drinking water quality
(colourless, clear, free of sediments)
Filling water and make-up water must be pre-filtered (max.
pore size 5 µm).
Scale formation in domestic hot water heating systems cannot
be avoided, but in systems with flow temperatures below 60 °C,
the problem can be disregarded. With high flow temperatures
and in particular with bivalent systems in the higher perfor-
mance range (heat pump + boiler combination), flow tempera-
tures of 60 °C and more can be achieved. The following stand-
ard values should therefore be adhered to with regard to the
filling and make-up water according to VDI 2035, sheet 1: the
total hardness values can be found in the table.
