Chapter 3 Scanning

Scanning Bar Codes

For the best scanning performance, the counter top or
surface area covered by the active scan area should be free
of any designs (e.g. stripes or patterns). Ideally, that area
should be a light solid color. To scan a bar code, move an
item through the active scan area in the direction of the
arrows, with the bar code label facing the scan window
(Figure 3-1). The scanner beeps when a bar code has been
decoded successfully.
