12 SOUND DEMO MODE
Reproducing demo music
The S5U1C88348T demonstration program contains melody data for two tunes, "Greensleeves" and
"Long Long Ago". When you reset the system, this melody data is loaded into the memory provided
for use in sound demo mode. You can replay these melodies by following the procedures given below.
User-registered melodies are replayed in the same way.
(1) Use the arrow keys [↑] or [↓] to choose "3. Search Record" from the submenu and press the [Enter]
key.
(2) A keyword input screen appears.
Input example:
Enter the title of a registered melody or the first few characters of a title and press the [Enter] key.
To choose "Greensleeves," for example, enter [g] and then press [Enter]. You can display the first
record simply by pressing [Enter], without entering a keyword.
You can enter up to 25 bytes worth of characters as a keyword (12 kana characters + one ASCII
character, or 21 ASCII-only characters, including ↵ in either case).
(3) The first record with the title beginning with the specified keyword is displayed. (Record display
mode)
If no title begins with the specified keyword, the closest record is displayed. For example, if a
keyword "b" is specified when records with titles "abs," "cde," "def" are registered, the record with
the title "cde" is displayed.
If there are no relevant registered records, the message "NO RECORD EXISTING!!" is displayed
for one second before the system reverts to the keyword input screen.
(4) Press the arrow keys [←] or [→] to display the preceding or following field.
Press the [Enter] key to enter title edit mode. If you press this key inadvertently, press the [Esc]
key to return to the previous mode.
(5) Press the [CR] key ([Shift], [Enter]) to play the registered melody.
(6) Press the [Esc] key to return to the keyword input screen.
To return to the submenu of the address book, press [Submode] key ([Shift], [Mode]).
Playing a melody from the keyboard
(1) Use the arrow keys [↑] or [↓] to choose "1. Keyboard" from the submenu and press the [Enter] key.
Note that "<Keyboard Playing>" is displayed on the screen to indicate that you are in keyboard
mode.
(2) When you press any of the following keys, a sound is produced for the given duration for the
musical interval assigned to the key.
(3) To quit keyboard mode, press the [Submode] key ([Shift], [Mode]). The system returns to the
sound demo submenu. You can also use the [Mode] key to return to the top menu.
