Data records
Records in the address book consist of the following data fields.
Field
N: Name
T: Telephone number
C: Cell phone number
E: E-mail address
A: Home address
Each line of display area is capable of displaying up to 11 characters plus one ASCII character. When
data consists of only ASCII characters, up to 19 characters may be displayed on a line. However, the
number of ASCII characters that may be displayed on the last line is one 18 rather than 19, to allow
room for a separator code (displayed as ↵) at the end of the character string.
The two or four lines comprising each display area are not independent; a character string may be
entered across the line boundaries in the area. Except for the last line, you may start a new line in the
middle of the current line by pressing [CR] key ([Shift], [Enter]). When a character string flows past
the last line, the overflow characters are ignored.
Before data can be saved as records, at least one character must be entered in the name field. All other
fields can be blank when data is saved. When saving data, entries in the address book are sorted by
the data entered in the name fields. Entries of the same name are listed in the order in which they
were saved.
A single record can occupy a maximum space of 328 bytes.
All data settings are cleared when the system is powered on and after a reset.
Creating new records
Entering data
(1) Select "1. Make New Record" from the submenu, using the arrow keys [↑] or [↓], and press the
[Enter] key.
(2) The cursor flashes at the "N" (name) field.

Display:

Do not press [Enter] here. To start a new line, press the [CR] key ([Shift], [Enter]). (However, CR at
the beginning of a line is not accepted.) When creating a new record, you must enter information
in the name field.
Note: If you press the [Enter] key while entering data, the system finishes data registration and proceeds
to data entry for the next new record. If some information still needs to be entered for the first
record, you must enter the other information by searching for the record at a later time.
(3) After entering a name, press the [↓] key to move the cursor to the "T" (telephone number) field.
Enter a telephone number and press the [↓] key to proceed to the next field.
(4) Following the procedure above, enter data into the [N] (name) field, [T] (telephone number) field,
[C] (cell phone number) field, [E] (E-mail address) field, and [A] (home address) fields when
necessary. To return to the preceding field, press the [↑] key.
Correcting data
(1) To correct a name or other data, use the arrow keys [↑], [↓], [←], or [→] to move to the correct
position, then enter or delete characters.
(2) Characters are inserted at the cursor position, with the character previously at that position shifted
to the right. If characters already fill all available space in the field, the overflow characters are
deleted.
(3) Use the [BS] key or [Del] key ([Shift], [BS]) to delete. The [BS] key deletes the character to the left
of the cursor position, while the [Del] key deletes the character at the cursor position.
