7.1.2 Network
Find network values and optimize connectivity based on your Internet connection. In most cases the values
should populate automatically once your DVR is connected to your Modem/Router and Internet connection is
established. The values in this section should only be adjusted if you are an advanced user and have extensive
experience in device networking.
DHCP Enable: The most common network connection type. These values are collected
automatically from your ISP when connected.
Static IP: Modify these values if you are using a static IP address. Information can be obtained
from your router and ISP.
IP Address: Network address of the connected DVR.
Subnet Mask: The range of IP addresses that can be found in the network. This should always be
set to the default address 255.255.255.000.
Gateway: The connection between two networks. This should always be the IP address of the
connected router.
DNS1: Primary Domain Name System server address.
DNS2: Secondary Domain Name System server address.
