Troubleshooting
For problems with the Adaptec software, explanations of error
messages, and more, refer to the software's Online Help by
clicking Help in the button bar.
Creating a CD is a sensitive process. If your computer has too
many tasks to fulfil at the same time, you may run into so called
buffer underruns. This means that the data stream to the CD
writer has been broken and the CD you are burning on will
become unusable.
If you get error messages or the CD you created is not working
properly or not working at all, please try the following general
troubleshooting tips:
While burning a CD do not start any other programs and
wait until the CD is ready.
Close all running applications before launching Easy
CD Creator by pressing [CTRL] + [ALT] + [DEL] and
End Task on all except 'Explorer' and 'Systray'.
Run both ScanDisk and Defrag on the hard disk(s) to
optimise disk space. (To run click on Start , Programs ,
Accessories , and System Tools .)
Clean Temp directory, in \WINDOWS\TEMP - move or
delete all files and folders.
Disable screen savers and ALL power management.
Do not multi-task while recording, close all other programs.
Do not record from a compressed drive. Check the drive
properties box for details.
Log off all network connections.
