Operating the answering machine of the Gigaset C610A base
Setting the recording
parameters
The answering machine has already been
preset at the factory. Individual settings can
be adjusted using the handset.

Change multiple line input:
Length:
Select maximum recording time 1 min.,
2 min., 3 min. or Maximum.
Quality:
Select recording quality Long Play or
Excellent. If the quality is higher, the max-
imum recording time is reduced.
Ring Delay:
Select when the answering machine
should accept a call: Immediately, after
10 sec., 18 sec., 30 sec. or Automatic.

Press the display key.
Information about call acceptance
In Automatic mode, the following applies
for ring delay:

If there are no new messages, the answer-
ing machine accepts a call after 18 sec-
onds.
u
If new messages are present, the answer-
ing machine accepts a call after 10 sec-
onds.
When operating remotely (
can tell after approx. 15 seconds that there
are no new messages (otherwise the
answering machine would already have
accepted your call). There will be no call
charges if you hang up now.
Please note:
You can configure your telephone so that
the first ring is suppressed on all calls

selected for call acceptance predetermines
how long the caller must wait before the
answering machine answers the call.

Resetting fast access for
the answering machine using
key 1
By default, key has been assigned for
fast access to the integrated answering
machine. However, if you have set the net-
work mailbox for fast access (
you can reset this setting.

Select and press
Once you have selected the answering
machine, press and hold key . You will
be connected directly.
The setting for fast access applies to all regis-
tered handsets.
Operating when on the move
(remote operation)
You can check and activate your answering
machine from any other telephone (hotel,
pay phone etc.), or initiate ringback from the
answering machine with an SMS.

You have set a system PIN other than

The phone you are using for remote oper-
ation has tone dialling (DTMF), i.e. you
hear different tones when you press the
keys. Alternatively, you can use a code
transmitter (available from a retailer).
