atmosphere on the measurement result can be
neglected during the majority of the
measurements in this range – therefore, the
transmission is set to 1.00 at the factory. Only in
the event of measurements over longer
distances (over approx. 100 m) and/or through
additional window materials, gases, and fog, will
the transmission decrease and the path
temperature, the relative humidity and/or
transmission (dew), and distance should be
defined and taken into consideration.
The "Material" option provides an alphabetically sorted
collection of the emissivity of different materials, within
the framework of which the different surface conditions
are partially taken into consideration. When material and
condition (status) are selected, the emissivity of the
selected material is accepted as global emissivity.

Note
The factory setting of the emissivity is 1.00.
Therefore, it is assumed that 100 % of the
measured radiation is emitted by the measuring
object. The measuring object corresponds to the
"ideal black-body emitter" and is non-reflective.
