Non-Combustible Fiber Board (Facing) Now Included
Non-Combustible Fiber Board is now included. These
four pieces of fiber board are directly attached to the
fireplace and framing, eliminating the need to purchase
cement board or other non-combustible backing board.
The fiber board is shrink-wrapped to the back of the
fireplace.
Shutoff Valve – Turn "ON" After Installing Gas Line
A shutoff valve is built into the fireplace. It is located on
the left side of the fireplace and acts as the gas inlet
connection. After installing the gas line (and testing),
remove the cover plate shown to the right and turn the
gas shutoff valve to "ON".
Cement Board is Not Required Under the 1080 CF Fireplace
The 1080 CF has specially-designed standoffs below the baseplate, eliminating the need for cement board.
Improved Top Stand-Off Design
The metal stand-offs above the fireplace are included to ease installation. A center standoff is provided to allow the
two included pieces of fiber board to be supported in the middle. Furthermore, the cross-beam on the upper stand-
off has been placed so that the drywall edge is supported. Use drywall screws to secure the facing, and drywall,
directly to the fireplace standoffs and framing. See the installation manual for details.
Lifting Handle-Compatible
Four sheet-metal tabs are attached to the base of the fireplace. By attaching the optional lifting handles (sku
98500711), you can easily lift the fireplace into position.
AC Powered (with battery backup)
The 1080 CF has a built-in AC adapter along with a battery backup. This extends battery life and allows the
homeowner to run the fireplace in cases where the batteries have drained (flame height will no longer be controlled
in this case). See installation manual for complete details on hooking up the AC power.
