TIP
The spring preload setting is determined by
measuring distance A, shown in the illustra-
tion. The longer distance A is, the higher the
spring preload; the shorter distance A is, the
lower the spring preload.
Spring preload setting*:
Minimum (soft):
110.5 mm (4.35 in) (PZ5NX)
111.5 mm (4.39 in) (PZ5NT)
Standard:
120.5 mm (4.74 in) (PZ5NX)
112.5 mm (4.43 in) (PZ5NT)
Maximum (hard):
126.5 mm (4.98 in) (PZ5NX)
122.5 mm (4.82 in) (PZ5NT)
* Distance A changes 1.5 mm (0.06 in)
with each full turn of the adjusting
nut.
3.
Tighten the locknut to the specified
torque. NOTICE: Always tighten the
locknut against the adjusting nut, and
then tighten the locknut to the speci-
fied torque.

Rear torsion springs

WARNING
The left and right spring preloads must be
adjusted to the same setting. Uneven set-
tings can cause poor handling and loss of
stability.
To increase the spring preload and thereby
harden the suspension, turn the adjuster in
direction (a). To decrease the spring preload
and thereby soften the suspension, turn the
adjuster in direction (b).

Adjusting the 2-up adjusting blocks

WARNING
Make sure that the 2-up adjusting blocks
are installed in the same position on both
sides of the snowmobile, otherwise poor
handling and loss of stability may result.
The spring force can be adjusted by chang-
ing the position of the 2-up adjusting blocks.
