Title

Ghost image occurs due to remained toner on the primary charging roller

Symptom
Two types of ghost images have been occurring. Cause of each ghost image and field remedy will be
explained.
A) A ghost image wherein toner of different color is transferred to a band of a solid color image (called a
retransfer residue ghost). The following sample image [A] shows that Magenta toner [a] is transferred to a
solid yellow part or a white background.

B) A ghost image wherein the same color toner is retransferred (called a transfer residue ghost). The
following sample image [B] shows that Black (Bk) toner is retransferred.
