MAINTENANCE
AIR FILTER
Always change the air filter at the intervals
outlined in the Periodic Maintenance Chart
section.
1. Remove the seat. See page 53.
2. Release the air box cover spring clips and
remove the cover.
3. Remove the foam air filter. Wash the foam
filter in warm soapy water, then rinse and let
dry. If the filter is damaged, install a new foam
filter.
4. Apply a commercially available foam filter
lubricant to the foam filter.
5. Clean away any oil or sediments in the air
box.

6. Reinstall the filter and air box cover. Secure
the clips.
7. Reinstall the seat.
NOTICE
Never operate the vehicle with the filter element
removed. Dirt will enter the engine, causing
rapid wear and severe damage to the engine.
