OPERATION

8.1

Start-up

Before proceeding, completely turn the two knobs anticlockwise all the way round
HEATING
There must be a heat demand to start the boiler for heating. Set the heating flow temperature by turning the knob
(towards the right).
DHW
There must be a heat demand by starting DHW take-off to start the boiler in DHW mode. Set the temperature by turning the knob
clockwise (towards the right).
8.2

Shut-down

To turn off the boiler, disconnect the electric power supply at the two-pole switch and close the gas tap.
In these conditions, the boiler is not protected against frost.
8.3

Frost protection

It is good practice to not drain the entire heating system as filling up with water again could cause unnecessary and harmful
scale to build up inside the boiler and the heating elements. If the boiler is not used during the winter and is therefore exposed
to the danger of frost, add some specific anti-freeze to the water in the system (e.g.: propylene glycol with corrosion and scale
inhibitors). The electronic boiler management system includes a "frost protection" function for the heating system which, when
flow temperature falls below 7 °C, operates the pump. If the temperature reaches 4 °C, the burner runs until the flow temperature
reaches 10 °C. The burner then turns off and the pump continues to run for 15 minutes.
The function is operative if: the boiler is electrically powered, there is gas, system pressure is normal and the boiler is not
blocked.
8.4

Venting function

This function is used to vent the heating system. When the boiler is installed, the function is activated automatically at the end
of the first ignition procedure, as described in item 8 of chapter 7.3. However, if necessary, the function can also be activated
manually by pressing and holding down the RESET key for 5 seconds. This function lasts 5 minutes and cannot be interrupted.
