number, and serial number of the unit. Make a note of these numbers and
store them in an easily accessible place. Should you need to contact Technical
Support, you will be asked for these numbers.
4. Inspect the power cord plug to make sure that it matches the power
receptacle.
5. Make sure that all of the associated electrical outlets are grounded and that
the circuit breaker is turned on.
6. Position the drive so that it is convenient to the server. The only restrictions
are the length of the power cord and the length of the cable to the server. Do
not place anything on top of the tape drive.
7. If there are no other devices attached to your server, a SAS host adapter card
might need to be installed in the server. To install an adapter, see the
instructions that accompany it, as well as the documentation that came with
your server.
8. Locate the SAS cable and make sure the tape drive is turned off.
9. Connect the SAS cable to SAS host adapter and to the tape drive. Although
the tape drive has two SAS ports, it can be connected only to one server. The
