Removing a drive from an enclosure

Drive removal procedures vary depending on the type of enclosure. The following
procedure can be used if the enclosure documentation is not available for the
specific enclosure type.

Removing the internal drive

This procedure is to be performed only by IBM Service Personnel.
Note: One of the four screws securing the cover to the chassis is a tamperproof
Removing the cover
1. Unplug all cables from the rear panel of the unit.
2. Move the unit to a clean and sturdy work surface.
3. Turn the unit on its side with the bottom of the unit facing you.
4. Remove the four screws (see Figure 23 on page 74) by the feet.
