: Pull off the fuel hose (1).
– Inspect the fuel hoses and
replace if necessary.

: Push the fuel hose (1) onto the
short stub (arrow) of the new fuel
pump.

– Push the fuel pump into the fuel
hose (1).
: Line up the lug (3) with the recess
(arrow) and push the fuel pump
(2) into the bore until the retaining
tabs engage.

: Push the fuel hose (1) into its
guides (arrows).
– Check operation.
– Reassemble all other parts in the
reverse sequence.
– Tightening torques, b 3.5

Fuel Intake

14.9.1 Pickup Body

Any impurities mixed with the fuel
are retained by the pickup body
(filter). The fine pores of the filter
eventually become clogged with
minute particles of dirt. This restricts
the passage of fuel and results in
fuel starvation.
In the event of trouble with the fuel
supply system, always check the
fuel tank and the pickup body first.
– Troubleshooting,
Do not use pliers, pointed or sharp-
edged tools.
Clean the fuel tank if necessary.
– Open the tank cap and drain the
tank.

– Pour a small amount of clean
gasoline into the tank. Close the
tank and shake the saw
vigorously
– Open the tank again and drain it
Dispose of fuel properly in
accordance with environmental
requirements.
– Open the tank cap.
: Use hook 5910 893 8800 to
remove the pickup body from the
fuel tank.
Do not overstretch the fuel hose.
– Pull the pickup body (1) off the
fuel hose, check it and clean or
replace if necessary.
– Install in the reverse sequence.
