Cause and/or Corrective Actions
• The cassette has no Cassette Memory.
c Use the cassette with Cassette Memory (p. 133).
• The Cassette Memory is full.
c Erase unnecessary title (p. 135).
• The cassette is set to prevent accidental erasure.
c Slide the write-protect tab to REC (p. 287).
• The tape has a blank portion in the recorded portion.
c Superimpose the title to the recorded portion (p. 133).
• The cassette has no Cassette Memory.
c Use the cassette with Cassette Memory (p. 138).
• The Cassette Memory is full.
c Erase unwanted data (p. 139).
• The tape is set to prevent accidental erasure.
c Slide the write-protect tab to REC (p. 287).
• The input selector on the VCR is not set correctly.
c Set the selector correctly, then check the connection
between the VCR and your camcorder (p. 106, 120).
• Your camcorder is connected to DV equipment of other
than Sony using the i.LINK cable.
c Set it to IR (p. 111).
• Setting programme on a blank portion of the tape is
attempted.
c Set the programme again on a recorded portion (p. 117).
• The synchronisation of your camcorder and the VCR is not
adjusted.
c Adjust the synchronisation of the VCR (p. 115).
• The IR SETUP code is not correct.
c Set the correct code (p. 114).
• Setting programme on a blank portion of the tape is
attempted.
c Set the programme again on a recorded portion (p. 173).
• COMMANDER is set to OFF in the menu settings.
c Set it to ON (p. 250).
• Something is blocking the infrared rays.
c Remove the obstacle.
• The batteries are inserted in the battery holder with the + –
polarities not matching the + – marks.
c Insert the batteries with the correct polarity (p. 315).
• The batteries are dead.
c Insert new ones (p. 315).
• DISPLAY is set to V-OUT/LCD in the menu settings.
c Set it to LCD (p. 250).
