Set the flash on.
Set the exposure compensation to a positive
(+) value or use the spot metering function.
When the flash is used, the distance between
lens and subject should not exceed 3.5 m
(11.5 ft.) at wide angle and 2.2 m (7.2 ft.) at
telephoto.
Raise the ISO sensitivity and then shoot. (See
Changing the ISO Speed (p. 87).)
When the flash is used, the distance between
lens and subject should be no less than
45 cm (1.5 ft.).
Set the exposure compensation to a negative
(–) value or use the spot metering function.
Adjust the camera angle.
Set the flash to any other mode except On.
This is a normal occurrence in devices
containing CCDs and does not constitute a
malfunction. (This red bar of light will not be
recorded when shooting still photos, but it will
be recorded when shooting movies.)
