Editing Files

Protecting a File

To prevent a file from being accidentally erased or edited, you can protect an
important file. When a file is protected, the (protect) indicator is displayed in
the file information window, showing that the file is regarded as a read‑only file
you cannot erase or edit.
Display the file which you want to protect from a folder in the
" Recording Files" or " Music" category.
In the stop mode, press and hold BACK/
HOME to display the Home menu, then
select " Edit"
and then press /ENT.
Press  or  to select "ON," and then press /ENT.
The file is protected.
Press  STOP to exit the menu mode.
To release protection
Select "OFF" in step , and then press /ENT.
