1. Remove the SPC chassis (shuttle) from the BladeCenter S chassis (see
2. Make sure the release handles are closed and position the SPC chassis so that
3. Disconnect the two upper fan-to-midplane cable plugs from the midplane
4. Disconnect the two lower fan-to-midplane cable plugs from the midplane
5. Remove the nine screws that secure the midplane to the shuttle.
6. Lift the midplane away from the SPC chassis.

Installing the midplane

The installation of a midplane should only be performed by a trained service
technician.
