Chapter 2. Installing options

This section provides basic information that is needed to install PCI or PCI-X
adapters, symmetrical multiprocessor (SMP) Expansion Modules, and DIMMs;
properly cable your server; and prepare your server for installation into a rack. For
more detailed information, refer to the Option Installation Guide on the IBM xSeries
Documentation CD.

Opening the cover

Complete the following steps to open the server cover:
