Final System Checks, Cautions and Warnings

Final systems checklist
Probe is correctly installed in the magnet.
Temperature control line between the CryoBay and probe is connected.
Pneumatic line between the CryoBay and probe is connected.
Vacuum line between the CryoBay and probe is connected.
Probe is connected to the CCC transfer line.
Inlet and outlet water lines to the compressor are connected (water-cooled compressor).
Cooling water is set to the correct flow rate (water-cooled compressor). 7-10 L/min (1.85 - 2.6 gal/min).

AC power for the compressor is connected.
Compressor mains power switch (breaker) is on. Compressor power switch is on.
Compressor helium gauge reads 1.5 mPa (215-220 psi).
AC power for the CryoBay is connected.
CryoBay power switch (UPS) is on.
Helium regulator gas pressure correct (225 psi or 1.55 mPa, with a cylinder pressure of > 500 psi or 3.4 mPa)
and cylinder valves are open.
Open cylinder valve.
Open regulator pressure valve.
Open regulator flow valve. See
Pneumatic gas supply pressure is correct. 80 - 100 psi (5.5 - 7.5 bar, 552 - 689 kPa).
Sample temperature controller gas is supplied to VT Heater Knob at 15 lpm (18 lpm for Salt Tolerant probe). See
Agilent Cold Probe manual.
Sample temperature controller cable is connected.
CryoBay connection has been confirmed and CryoBay Controls popup window is open.
All probe capacitors are set 2 or more turns away from either extremes of their ranges.
All RF cables are connected.
PFG cable connected.
CryoBay sample eject air adjusted if necessary. See

Review check list and verify that all the conditions are met
before starting cryogenic operations. If any checked list
items are not connected, functioning, or turned on the
cryogenic system will not function or will not function
correctly, and in some cases the equipment could be
damaged.
