Stopping Cryobay Operations

Cryobay monitor functions

Warming both the CCC and the probe

N O T E

The system executes the following processes during the
shutdown:
• Turns on turbo pump and turns off ion pump
• Stops the compressor and allows the probe to warm up
• Actively warms the CCC
• Sets the status to Warming until the warm temperature
set point is met, then returns the system status to Idle

on page 32, for information on the operation
cycle when Stop is pressed.
Proceed in the following order:
Stop NMR.

Eject the sample.

Verify that all capacitors are two or more turns away

from either extreme of their range.
Open the CryoBay Controls popup window.

Click the Stop button, as seen in

to stop cryogenic operation.

Choose one of the following when the pop- up warning
screen, as seen in
Warm up the system — Click Ok.
Continue with cryogenic operation — Click Cancel.
The cryogenic system will proceed to its warming cycle.

Status displays Warming.
Accelerated warm- up takes about nine hours. Do not
disconnect the probe at this time, keep the probe
attached to the CCC.
Wait until the status displays Idle.

If using a water-cooled compressor, continue water cooling for at least
15 minutes after the compressor has been turned off.
