If
--J
do find tn.- _jon devices that will fit,
install them on the front tires for
front-wheel-drive vehicles. If your vehicle has
all-wheel drive, install traction devices
on
either the front tires or all four tires, but never
on the rear tires only.
Notice: If your vehicle has a tire size smaller than
P215/705R16 or P235/55R17 size tires, use tire
chains only where legal and only when you must.
Use only SAE Class "S" type chains that are
the proper size for your tires. Install them on the
front tires, or for all-wheel-drive vehicles, the front or
all four (but never rear only) tires and tighten
them as tightly as possible with the ends securely
fastened. Drive slowly and follow the chain
manufacturer's instructions. If you can hear the
chains contacting your vehicle, stop and retighten
them. If the contact continues, slow down until
it stops. Driving too fast or spinning the wheels with
chains on will damage your vehicle.
Your vehicle may have an air inflator. With it, you can
inflate things like air mattresses and basketballs,
and you can also use it to bring your tires up to the
proper pressure.
The air inflator is located in the rear compartment on
the driver's side. To remove the cover, pull the tab
on the cover and pull it off.
This is the switch for the
air inflator.
There may be an air inflator kit stored in the glove box.
It includes a 20-foot (6 m) hose with an air pressure
gage and nozzle adapters.
