Changing Engine Oil and Filter

Z06 models are equipped with a racetrack-ready dry

sump engine lubrication system. This high-performance

system operates differently than a standard engine

lubrication system and requires a special procedure

when changing the engine oil and ﬁlter. Follow this

procedure closely when changing the engine oil

A. Engine Oil Drain Plug

1. Remove the two drain plugs from the bottom of the

engine oil pan. One drain plug is located on the

side of the engine oil pan, under the oil ﬁlter, and

drains the small amount of residual oil from the

oil pan. The other drain plug is located on the front

of the engine oil pan and drains the main engine

oil storage tank and line.
