3-1.Installation Procedure

1. Installing W Type(Wire) Link Units
• Install W Type(Wire) Link Units on the corresponding Master
Backplane.
• FP3 W Type(Wire) Link Unit must be installed on the FP3 Master
Backplane and FP5 W Type(Wire) Link Unit must be installed on the
FP5 Master Backplane.
• A maximum of 3 P/W Link units can be installed on a Master
Backplane. One CPU can control a maximum 3 P/W Link units.
Note :
• Units classified as P/W Link units are :
W Type(Wire) Link Unit, P Type(Optical) Link Unit,
C.C.U.(Computer Communication Unit), C-NET Link Unit
• Be sure to check the I/O assignment and current consumption.
2. Connection
• Use a twisted pair cable to connect FP3/FP5 W Type(Wire) Link Units.
• Connect transmission terminals, positive(+) to positive(+) and nega-
tive(-) to negative(-).
• A maximum of 32 W Type(Wire) Link Units can be connected in a
network within 800 m/2,624.672 ft. long.
3. Settings
• Set a different station numbers(UNIT NO.) for each W Type(Wire)
Link Unit in a network using the Station Number(UNIT NO.) Selector.
• Be sure to check that the station numbers(UNIT NO.) are assigned in
the range of 01 to 32.
• Set the operation mode(with P/W PC Link function or without P/W PC
Link function) using Mode Selector Switch(MODE SW. 1).
• Be sure to check that the stations with P/W PC Link function are
assigned in the range from 01 to 16 as their station numbers
(UNIT NO.).
• Configure the two W Type(Wire) Link Units located at each end of the
W Type(Wire) Link network as terminal stations using Mode Selector
Switches 3 & 4(MODE SW. 3 & 4).
