Scanning from the printer control panel

Fiery Remote Scan allows you to use the imagePRESS Server printer control panel to scan an image from the printer
glass (platen) or automatic document feeder (ADF) to the imagePRESS Server.
You can then open the image with Fiery Remote Scan or the Docs WebTool. You can send the scanned job to a hard
disk using a mailbox.
Additionally, you can scan a job directly to the Hold queue, so that you can use the document merging and editing
features of Command WorkStation. For more information about using these features, see Command WorkStation
Help.
Before you initiate the scan, specify the appropriate scan settings for your scan job. To scan at the imagePRESS
Server printer control panel, see
the printer control panel menu, see the documentation that accompanies your printer.
Note: If the Department ID and password are defined on the printer and the printer is set so that it only accepts jobs
with the Department ID and password, the printer will not allow you to scan without the Department ID and
password. This function is called Allow Remote Scan Jobs With Unknown ID (turned on by default). For more
information, see the documentation that accompanies your printer.
