STARTING THE ENGINE
WARNING*: Never start the engine if
there is no oil in the reservoir (A).
To correctly start a cold engine proceed as follows:
1) shift the gearbox in neutral;
2) set fuel cock (1) in ON position;
3) turn ignition key (2) in ON position;
4) pull the starting device lever (3).
5) Leaving the throttle fully closed, operate the kick-start
(4). Take the lever (3) in its initial position as soon as
the engine is idling. When starting a warm engine DO
NOT USE the starting device.You can start the engine
with the gear engaged, while pulling the clutch lever.
If the carburettor is flooded, shut off the fuel supply
and the starting device, then work the kick start pedal
until the engine starts. If necessary, remove the spark
plug and dry it.

NEVER START ENGINE WITH BATTERY
DISCONNECTED FROM CIRCUIT

NOTE
IMPORTANT NOTE IN CASE OF COLD START
AT LOW TEMPERATURES
It is recommended to briefly warm up the engine at idle
until, after having turned off the starting device, the en-
gine response when opening the throttle is normal.
This will enable the lubricant to reach the correct operat-
ing temperature thereby guaranteeing a correct opera-

tion of all engine parts. Avoid warming up the engine
for too long.
