Be sure to ground the personal computer.

CAUTION
Before inserting or removing IF cables or RS
cables, turn off the power switches of the
machine, the computer, and peripheral
equipment.
1. Turn off the power of the personal computer and the machine.
2. Open the cover of the personal computer and insert an interface board included with the Machine
Controller (option) into the slot for the PCI bus.
3. Connect the interface board male connector and the personal computer RS-232C connector
(COM1 or RS-232C-1) using the attached short RS cable included with the Machine Controller
(option).
