Limbing
WARNING
■ During delimbing the sawn-off branch may fall to the
ground. This may result in serious injury to the user.
► Do not stand under the branch which you are sawing.
► Maintain an angle of no more than 60° to the horizontal.

Reactive Forces

4.8.1
Kickback
Kickback can be caused for the following reasons:
– The rotating saw chain in the upper quadrant of the bar
nose makes contact with a hard object and is suddenly
braked.
– The rotating saw chain is pinched at the bar nose.

■ If kickback occurs, the pole pruner can be thrown upwards
and backwards. The user can lose control of the pole
pruner and be seriously injured.
► Always hold your pole pruner firmly with both hands.
► Always keep your body out of the plane of the cutting
► Use the working techniques described in this instruction
► Do not cut with the upper quadrant of the bar nose.
► Always cut with a properly sharpened and tensioned
► Use a reduced kickback saw chain.
► Use a guide bar with a narrow radius nose.
