Non-recording profile
Select one of the following profiles for each stream:
Note: Non-recording profiles (streams) are I-frame only.
Note: Each stream can have its own independent profile which does not need to be shared
with other streams.
Active profile
Each stream shows its active profile. When you click the name, the Encoder Profile (stream
(number), profile (number)) window appears. Refer to the chapter Encoder Profile, page 36
for details.
JPEG stream
Set the parameters for the M‑JPEG stream.
Note:
The M-JPEG frame rate can vary depending on system loading.
Video resolution
Select the desired resolution for the video image.
Note: Each stream can have its full resolution.
Frame rate
The Frame rate slider determines the interval at which images are encoded and transmitted.
This can be particularly advantageous with low bandwidths. The frame rate is displayed next
to the slider.
Click Test to see when and if a specific stream will drop frames.

Encoder Statistics

Stream
Identifies the current stream (1, 2, or JPEG).
Zoom
Identifies the current zoom factor of the camera (1x, 2x, 4x, or 8x).
Averaging period
Select the appropriate averaging period as a means of stabilizing the long term bit rate.

Encoder Regions

User can configure encoding regions for every configured preset (preposition/scene), to
increase or decrease the encoding quality for selectable areas of the video image. These
regions give better control of the bit rate. Important parts of the scene (identified as objects
in the GUI) are encoded at high resolution and therefore have an enhanced encoding quality.
Less important parts (such as the sky and trees in the background, all identified as
backgrounds in the GUI) are encoded at lower quality and therefore have a decreased
encoding quality.
Eight encoder regions can be defined.
Eight encoder regions can be defined. To define encoder regions, follow these steps.

Bosch Security Systems
Select the Resolution.
Select the Max. frame rate in images per second (ips).
The Picture quality slider allows adjustment of the M‑JPEG image quality from Low to
High.
From the first drop-down box (the unlabeled Regions selection list), select one of the
eight available regions. (The drop-down box has the default option of Region 1).
Click the + box to add an area.
