AMIBIOS Power-On Self Test
AMIBIOS provides all IBM-standard POST routines as well as enhanced POST routines. POST
supports CPU internal diagnostics. POST codes are accessible via the Manufacturing Test Port
(I/O Port 80h).
POST Phases
When the system is powered on, AMIBIOS executes POST routines. The POST phases are:
System Test and Initialization (test and initialize motherboards for normal operations) and
System Configuration Verification (compare defined configuration with hardware actually
installed).
