EXCALIBUR ICON SETUP

Map Class

The Map class icon is used to call up another map for viewing.
The Map Class Icon Setup dialog box has only one entry, the
Map to Call. Select the name of the map file to callup for this
icon from the list of map files. Click the mouse on the arrow
at the right of the Map to Call box to scroll through the
available map files in the data directory.
When the desired map file is displayed in the file name box,
select "OK" to save the selection and close the dialog box.
Select "Cancel" to exit from this dialog box without saving the
icon setup information. See page 5-2 for restrictions on using
"Delete" in the icon setup box.

EXITING EXCALIBUR ICON SETUP

When icon setup is complete, select Exit from the Excalibur
Icon Setup menu bar. The icon setup data from this program is
saved in three (3) files:
ICONSCRN.SDB
ICONAD.SDB
EXMOD001.SDB
The amount of RAM memory required in the host computer
depends on the number of maps and/or icons needed. The
memory allocated for the .MAP file is 64 Kb, and the .ICN file
is 4 Kb. Each icon has 100 bytes of data associated with it in
addition to the .ICN file. Therefore, it is estimated that a 4 Mb
memory computer should support more than 10,000 icons.
The number of .MAP or .ICN files is limited by the number of
icons and the number of files allowed in a directory. The
absolute limit for Excalibur is 32,767 icons and 7200 maps.
Each map may contain a maximum of 255 graphic objects and
256 icons.
