The type of each icon in the Select Icon dialog box is shown in
the Appendix. The function of each icon during Excalibur
operation is described further in the Excalibur Operating
Instructions Manual, OP5500B.
Moving an Icon
To move an existing icon, select "Move" from the Icons menu,
then click the left mouse button on the icon to move. Move the
icon outline to the new location using the mouse, and click the
left mouse button to set it at that location. To cancel the
operation, click the right mouse button.
Rotating an Icon
Fixed camera icons can be rotated at 45 degree angles, while
pan/tilt and dome camera icons can be faced left or right. To
rotate an icon, select "Rotate" from the Icons menu, then click
the left mouse button on the icon. A dialog box, either Rotate
Icon or Flip Icon as illustrated on page 4-8, is displayed with
direction arrows applicable to that icon. Select the direction
that the camera is facing to point the icon in that direction.
Deleting an Icon
To delete an icon, select "Delete" from the Icons menu and
click the left mouse button on the icon. A Delete Icon
confirmation box is then displayed.
Select "Yes" to delete the icon from the map image or "No" to
retain it and return to the Excalibur CAD menus.
Note: If you are editing a map or icon file that has previously
been set up, refer to the Deleting Icons information in the
Excalibur Icons Setup program, Section 4. Deleting an icon
that has previously been set up MUST be done properly, or
you will have to redefine the data for ALL icons.
This is VERY IMPORTANT to understand.
Options Menu
The Options menu allows the user to select drawing units and
grid size to aid in the drawing of scaled objects.
Grid
The Grid option allows the user to select whether to display a
grid and to set the grid size. If "Show Grid" is set, a grid is
displayed in Excalibur CAD as a user convenience to assisting
in drawing -- it is not shown in Excalibur program operation.
Set Units
Set Units allows the user to set the drawing units to display in
the coordinates window at the bottom of the screen. This
dialog box is illustrated below.
The units selected do not change the size or scaling of the
displayed image; these provide units of reference for the user
in drawing map images to exact scale. The units selected are
displayed in a window at the bottom of the CAD program
screen (see page 4-11).
