Guard instructions can also be entered for this icon if it is setup
for alarm. A message can be displayed when the guard
acknowledges the alarm. To define the guard message, select
the "Guard Instructions" button on the Icon Setup dialog box.
The following Guard Instructions entry box is then displayed.
Type in the desired message to display to the guard (maximum
of 240 characters). It is not necessary to press the keyboard
"Enter" key at the end of each line when entering the
instructions in this box.
An Alarm Sound may be selected for this door alarm (see
"Alarm Sounds", page 5-3). Select the name of the alarm
sound file to callup for this icon from a list of sound files.
Click the mouse on the arrow at the right of the Alarm Sound
File box to scroll through the available sound files located in
the DATA file directory. The default alarm sound file, set by
the System Setup Sound Files function, page 2-10, may be
used by selecting the "DEFAULT" option from this list.
Excalibur calls the camera associated with this door alarm in
one of three ways: Display Mode 1, 2, or 3. See "Alarm
Camera Display" on page 5-3 for a description of the three
alarm display modes. Select the desired mode and enter the
associated information.
For Display Mode 1, specify an Alarm Monitor to call the
camera to on receipt of an alarm; an optional Preset may be
specified for this camera.
For Display Modes 2 and 3, the alarm is routed to the AD
Switcher, and the "2nd Switcher" button is enabled for use
with "Satellite" switching (see following paragraphs).
A second (local) switcher call may be defined for each icon.
This is useful for operating in a "Satellite" mode, as described
on page 5-2. Select "2nd Switcher" at the bottom right of the
Icon Setup dialog box. The Second (LOCAL) Switcher Setup
box, illustrated below, is then displayed to set up a local
switcher call for this icon.
Enter the second Switcher number and the Input (Camera) and
Output (Monitor) numbers to be called up in this switcher in
the appropriate entry boxes of this dialog box.
Alarm callup information can be defined for the second
switcher as well as the first. Enter the Alarmed Input (Camera)
and Alarmed Output (Monitor) numbers in the appropriate
entry boxes. The alarm callup modes on the second switcher
must follow the modes used on the first switcher.
Select "OK" in the second switcher setup box to save the setup
data and return to the Icon Setup dialog box. Select "Cancel"
to exit without saving the second switcher setup data. "Delete"
erases only the second switcher setup data, not the icon data.
When all icon setup data is entered, select "OK" to save the
data and close the Door Class Icon Setup dialog box. Select
"Cancel" to exit without saving the icon setup data. See page
5-2 for restrictions on using "Delete".
