Illumination and brightness

Backlight should be avoided. The visibility of a smoke plume or flames decreases rapidly with
increasing backlight. Try to minimize the amount of very bright background lights in your
specific environment as far as it is meaningful and possible.
AVIOTEC IP starlight 8000 needs a minimum illumination of 2 lx. Generally, a uniformly
illuminated monitoring area with a dynamic range in the camera image equal or less than
factor 5 is advantageous.
