Cause 4: The Flash mode is set to INPUT. (The camera is forcibly set to a shutter value
of 1/3.75 sec and a camera gain of 0 dB.)
1. Set the Flash mode to OFF.

4-12. The Control Panel Dial does not Function.
Cause 1: The "WB MODE" and "AE MODE" buttons are not set to MANUAL.

Cause 2: The "KEY LOCK" button is set to Enable. (The indicator lights in green.)
1. Set the "KEY LOCK" button on the control panel is to OFF.
4-13. IEEE1394 cannot Transfer During Communication.
Cause 1: The recommended TWAIN driver is not installed in a personal computer (PC).
1. Install the recommended TWAIN driver.
Cause 2: An IEEE1394 cable is not connected properly.
1. Connect the IEEE1394 cable properly.
Cause 3: The IEEE1394 extended board is in the inoperative state.
1. Confirm the device state in Property. Connect another IEEE1394 equipment to confirm the
operation.
Cause 4: An IEEE1394 cable is defective.
1. Connect another IEEE1394 equipment to confirm the cable.
Cause 5: The FM-84 board is defective.
1. Connect a cable to the IEEE1394 connector on the rear panel and confirm that the device driver in PC
is recognized.
Not recognized: The FM-84 board is defective.
2. Connect another FM-84 board to confirm the operation.
Normal: Replace the FM-84 board.
Cause 6: The version of a microcomputer (H8CPU) on the FM-84 board is not correct.
1. Update the program to a correct version. (Refer to section 3.)
