7) A second window is displayed listing available
transitions for the arrival. Turn either FMS Knob to
highlight the desired transition waypoint and press
the ENT Key.

8) A third window is displayed listing the available
runways. Turn either FMS Knob to select the desired
runway and press the ENT Key.

9) With 'LOAD?' highlighted, press the ENT Key. If a
flight plan is active, the selected arrival procedure is
inserted after the destination airport and becomes
part of the active flight plan. To begin flying the
arrival procedure, initiate a Direct-to at the desired
arrival waypoint in the flight plan. If no flight plan
is active when the arrival is loaded, the arrival
procedure becomes the active flight plan.

APPROACHES

NOTE: If certain GPS parameters (WAAS, RAIM,
etc.) are not available, some published approach
procedures for the desired airport may not be
displayed in the list of available approaches.
Not all approaches in the database are approved for GPS
use. When selecting an approach, a "GPS" designation to
the right of the procedure name indicates the procedure
can be flown using the GPS receiver. Some procedures do
not have this designation, meaning the GPS receiver can
be used for supplemental navigation guidance only. If the
GPS receiver cannot be used for primary guidance, the ap-
propriate navigation receiver must be used for the selected
approach (e.g., VOR or ILS). The final course segment of
ILS approaches, for example, must be flown by tuning the
Nav receiver to the proper frequency and selecting that
Nav receiver on the CDI.
The G1000 WAAS GPS allows for flying LNAV, LNAV/
VNAV, and LPV approaches according to the published
chart. The active appoach type is annunciated on the HSI
as shown in the following table:
