Align the drive cage with the slot on the riser.
Rotate the other end of the cage inwards.
Secure the drive cage to the riser with two screws.
Step 2. If you plan to install other adapters to the riser, do it now (see "Install an adapter in the PCIe riser
assembly" on page 163).
Step 3. Install the PCIe riser card into Zone 1 (see "Install the PCIe riser assembly to zone 1" on page 165).
After this task is completed
Proceed to complete the parts replacement (see "Complete the parts replacement" on page 218).
Install a 7mm drive
Follow the instructions in this section to install a 7mm drive.
About this task
Attention:
• Go over "Installation Guidelines" on page 107 to ensure that you work safely.
• Turn off the server and peripheral devices and disconnect the power cords and all external cables (see
"Power off the server" on page 12).
• If the server is installed in a rack, slide the server out on its rack slide rails to gain access to the top cover,
or remove the server from the rack.
