Installing an Optional Board in
the TK-5210
Be careful not to damage the seal between the transceiver
and its cover. Damaging the seal may degrade the
waterproof performance of the transceiver.
1. Remove the 4 screws that hold the cover in place.
2. Insert tweezers into the cover screw hole and pull off
the cover.
3. Connect the Optional Board Connector PCB to the
connector of the TX-RX PCB (X57-6820-10).

4. Peel off the backing from the tape on the rear surface
of the SC20-460 board and attach the cushion on the
central part of upper inner wall of the chassis.
5. Reinstall the cover and battery pack.

Configuration using KPG-95D
You can write the Voice Scrambler information to the
transceiver using KPG-95D after installing the Voice
Scrambler.
Follow the procedure below to delete the selected
Encryption Key data from the transceiver.
1. Run KPG-95D.
You must read the data from the transceiver or use
data configured in the transceiver when adding the
Scrambler information to the current configuration
data. Refer to the Field Programming Reference for
instructions on how to read the configuration data
from the transceiver.
2. Select the Edit menu > "Extended Function".
The Extended Function window appears on the
display.
3. Select "Voice Scrambler" from the Optional Board
dropdown list.
Configure Scrambler Setting for each channel. Refer
to "FPRG 6.3.18 Analog tab" for instructions on how to
configure Scrambler Setting.
Assign the Scrambler/ Encryption key to a function
key in the Key Assignment window. Refer to "FPRG
6.8 Key Assignment window" for instructions on how
to configure the Voice Scrambler board.
