Aligning Fence

To ensure cutting accuracy when the fence is first
installed, the fence should be aligned with the
miter slot.
To align fence parallel with miter slot:
1.
DISCONNECT MACHINE FROM POWER!
2.
Make sure miter slot is aligned with bandsaw
blade (see Page 28).
3.
Mount fence next to miter slot, then loosen
knobs and cap screw that secure fence rail to
table.
4.
Adjust fence face parallel with edge of miter
slot, as shown in Figure 33.

5.
Tighten knobs and cap screw that secure rail
to table, being careful not to move fence.
NOTICE
Adjusting the fence parallel to the miter slot
does not guarantee straight cuts. The miter
slot may need to be adjusted parallel to the
side of the blade. Refer to the "Aligning
Table" instructions on Page 28.

Calibrating
Miter Gauge
The miter gauge needs to be calibrated to the
blade when it is first mounted in the miter slot.
To calibrate miter gauge:
1.
Place one edge of a machinist's square
against face of the miter gauge and other
against blade face, as shown in Figure 34.

2.
Loosen lock knob on miter gauge and adjust
gauge flush with edge of square.
3.
Tighten lock knob, and verify setting.
Note: Sometimes tightening procedure can
affect adjustment.
4.
Loosen screw that secures angle pointer and
adjust pointer to 0˚ mark on scale.
5.
Retighten screw that secures angle pointer.
