Intrinsically safe model
FM (reference drawing A5E01003040)

Under the entity evaluation concept, SITRANS Probe LR has the following characteristics:
(input voltage) U
(input current) I
(input power) Pi
(internal capacitance) C
(internal inductance) L
Definition:
The Entity Concept allows interconnection of intrinsically safe apparatus to associated
apparatus not specifically examined in such combination. The criteria for interconnection is
that the voltage and current which intrinsically safe apparatus can receive and remain
intrinsically safe, considering faults, must be equal to or greater than the output voltage (U
and output current (I
considering faults and applicable factors. In addition, the maximum unprotected capacitance
(C
) and Inductance (L
i
must be equal to or less than the capacitance and inductance which can be safely connected
to associated apparatus.

● Approved dust-tight and water-tight conduit seals are required for outdoor Type 4X, Type
6, IP67, IP68 locations.
● The maximum voltage of the non-intrinsically safe apparatus must not exceed 250 V rms.
● Recommended intrinsically safe barriers are listed here: IS safety barrier selection
(Page 100).
