Wiring setups for hazardous area installations

1. General Purpose or Non-Incendive Wiring (Class I,
Div. 2 Installations)
A general purpose installation does not have flammable media present. Areas rated non-
incendive (Class I, Div. 2) have flammable media present only under abnormal conditions.
Observe electrical data below:
Note:
• Electrical data for SITRANS LG200 Level Transmitter Model 7ML1300-1Axx1-xEA0:
Supply/output circuit: 11 - 36 V DC, 4 - 20 mA
WARNING: If flammable media is contained in the vessel, the
transmitter must be installed per Class I, Div. 1 ATEX II 1/2 GD EEx d
[ia] (Explosion Proof) standards of area classification.
1.
Unscrew and remove the enclosure lid.
2.
Install a cable gland in the conduit entry. Use PTFE tape/sealant to ensure a liquid-
tight connection.
3.
Install a conduit fitting and feed the supply wires into the SITRANS LG200 through
the conduit entry.
4.
Connect shield to an earth ground at power supply.
5.
Connect an earth ground wire to the nearest green ground screw.
6.
Connect the positive supply wire to the (+) terminal and the negative supply wire to
the (-) terminal.
7.
Replace the enclosure lid.
