Battery

Replacing the lead battery
The details on the battery case cannot be used to

identify a comparable battery that meets all the

specific requirements of Porsche.
e Always have the battery replaced by a qualified
L
specialist workshop.

e Only replace the lead battery with an AGM (Ab-
sorbent Glass Mat) battery that meets the spe-
N
cific requirements of the vehicle. Porsche
O
recommends that you use a genuine Porsche
battery.

e A new battery must be registered in the control
Q
unit after installation. Visit a qualified specialist
workshop. Porsche recommends a Porsche part-
R
ner as they have trained workshop personnel and
S
the necessary parts and tools.
e Observe the disposal instructions for batteries.

Power interruption
Following a temporary power interruption, some

equipment has to be reinitialised.

1. Store the end position for the power windows.

Lithium battery
Electric shock, short cir-

cuit, fire or explosion
Touching conductive parts of the vehicle can give
you an electric shock. You can cause a short circuit
when working on the vehicle's electrical system.
Short circuits can cause fires. Many automotive flu-
ids are highly flammable, e.g. fuel, engine or trans-
mission oil. Fuel vapours can combust.
e The battery should only be removed and installed
at a qualified specialist workshop. Porsche rec-
ommends a Porsche partner as they have trained
workshop personnel and the necessary parts and
tools.
Escaping electrolyte fluid
WARNING
and toxic gases
Risk of electrolyte fluid and toxic gases escaping in
exceptional cases if the battery is damaged or
handled incorrectly.
e Avoid any inhalation of the vapours and any skin
contact with the electrolyte fluid.
e Keep people away and stay on the side facing
into the wind.
e Only charge lithium batteries in well-ventilated
rooms.
NOTICE
Risk of short circuit, fire and damage to the genera-
tor and electronic control units and components.
e The battery should only be removed and installed
at a qualified specialist workshop. Porsche rec-
ommends a Porsche partner as they have trained
workshop personnel and the necessary parts and
tools.

The 12-volt lithium battery is located under the
plastic cover in the luggage compartment. For in-
formation on removing the plastic cover:

The 12-volt lithium battery is automatically discon-
nected from the vehicle electrical system if the bat-
tery charge condition is low. The electrical system is
deactivated temporarily. When the battery is
charged (for at least 10 minutes) or when jump-lead
