Muting the Microphone

Mute turns off the microphone so the caller can't hear you. This only works while you are on a call.
From the base
1. Press [mute] [mute/find hs] ( on the dual-
keypad base). The speaker LED blinks while
muting is on.
2. To cancel muting, press [mute] or
[mute/find hs] again. The speaker LED stops
blinking.

Privacy Mode

If you don't want other stations to interrupt your call, turn on privacy mode. As long as your handset is in privacy
mode, other stations can't join your call or make any calls of their own: their displays will show UNAVAILABLE.
1. While on a call, press [menu/clear]
2. Move the cursor to PRIVACY MODE, and then press
display for 2 seconds; the icon remains in the display as long as privacy mode is on.
To turn privacy mode off, repeat the procedure listed above.
From the handset
1. Press [menu/clear]
2. Move the cursor to select MUTE and then press
[select/
display; . remains while muting is on.
3. To cancel muting, repeat the procedure, MUTE
OFF appears.
