Making/Answering Calls Using the Base Unit
Temporary tone dialing for landline
calls (for rotary/pulse service users)
Press * before entering access numbers which
require tone dialing.
Recording a telephone conversation
(2-way recording)
This unit can record a telephone conversations
during landline calls.

Press MRECORDN during a landline call.
R The total recordable time is displayed.
R The unit announces to both parties that the
recording will start.
R The unit starts recording.

To stop recording, press MSTOPN.
R You can continue the conversation with the
outside caller.
Note:
R When recording is completed:
– The total number of recordings will be added
to the number of messages in the answering
system.
– M
N on the base unit flashes.
– "New message" is displayed.
– Audible message alert sounds (page 68).
R To listen to the recorded conversation, refer
"Listening to messages", page 67.
R 2 way recording is not available during
conference calls.
R The recording will end in the following situations:
– When MFLASHN is pressed.
– When the hold or intercom feature is used.
R When memory is/becomes full:
– "Memory full" is shown on the display.
– An error tone sounds.
Call share
You can join an existing outside call.
To select the line that is being used for the call:
– for a cellular line, press MCELL 1N or MCELL 2N,
then lift the corded handset.
– for the landline, lift the corded handset.
Note:
R A maximum of 3 parties (including 1 outside
party) can join a conversation using 2
extensions. (3-way conference)
R To prevent other users from joining your
conversations with outside callers, turn call
sharing mode off (page 50).
R A 2nd party cannot join an outside call that is
being recorded (page 28).

Transferring calls, conference calls
Outside calls can be transferred or a conference
call with an outside party can be made between a
handset and the base unit.

During an outside call, press MINTERCOMN.
When 2 or more handsets are registered:
MbN: Select the desired unit. a MSELECTN
R To page all handsets, press 0 or wait for a
few seconds.

Wait for the paged party to answer.
R If paged party does not answer, press
MINTERCOMN to return to the outside call.

To complete the transfer:
Place the corded handset on the cradle.
R The outside call is being routed to the
handset.
To establish a conference call:
Press MCONFN.
R To leave the conference, place the corded
handset on the cradle. The other 2 parties
can continue the conversation.
R To put the outside call on hold, press
MHOLDN. To resume the conference, press
MCONFN.
Transferring a cellular call between
the base unit and a cellular phone
Transferring a cellular call from the base unit
to a cellular phone

Press MMENUN during a cellular call.

MbN: "Transfer to cell" a MSELECTN
R The cellular call is transferred to the cellular
phone.

Place the corded handset on the cradle.
Note:
R You can also press and hold MCELL 1N or
MCELL 2N to transfer a cellular call instead of
steps 1 and 2.
R Depending on your cellular phone type, you
may need to set the cellular phone to be ready
to talk before transferring. For example, if your
cellular phone has a top cover, open it
beforehand.
Transferring a cellular call from a cellular
phone to the base unit
During a conversation using a cellular phone,
press MCELL 1N or MCELL 2N, then lift the corded
handset.
R The cellular call is transferred to the base unit.
