5. Installing the Ink Cartridges

Filling with Ink for the First Time

When installing ink cartridges for the first time, clean the print heads with the cleaning solution, and then fill
with ink of each color. This operation requires four SOL INK cleaning cartridges.
*For SOL INK cartridges and ink cartridges, be sure to use new ones.
*Never, under any circumstances, use anything other than the specified type of ink or cleaning fluid.
* You can switch the ink type after filling with ink although there are some restrictions. See "Switching the Ink
Type" in User's Manual for more information.

Selecting the Ink Mode

When you use the printer for the first time, you need to select a proper combination (ink mode) according to the usage.
Ink mode
Gloss mode
White mode
Gloss/White mode
EUVS ink mode
* Ink type: Indicates the type of ink that is used. Examples include EUV ink and EUV3 ink.
* Ink mode: Indicates the combination of the ink colors that are used. Examples include white mode and gloss
mode; the name of the special color used is included in the ink mode.
Procedure

Close the front cover 1.

If the main power switch is on, then switch it off.
