Refrigeration System
Is the compressor running when
the green LED is NOT flashing
OR when the Red LED is
flashing?
NO
Isolate power and fit gauges to the
high and low side access valves.
Restore power and if necessary, use
the proxy sensor or draw off water to
initiate a call for heating.
After at least 10 minutes
operation, is the suction
pressure low?
TEST 7
NO
Is the suction pressure high?
TEST 7
NOTES
1. The reset button will reset Fault 9, reset
the Fault 9 counter and clear the stored
Fault Code from the controller memory.
NO
2. If Fault 9 has occurred, the refrigerant
high pressure switch may also have tripped.
Is the discharge pressure high?
TEST 8
NO
Isolate power.
Do the system pressures
equalise?
YES
Is the system taking too long to
equalise?
NO
WARNING: The heat pump must NEVER be operated with the refrigeration system open to atmosphere.
WARNING: When reclaiming refrigerant, BOTH sides of the refrigeration system must be open to the reclaim
bottle, in order to prevent the possibility of sections of the refrigeration system remaining pressurised.
WARNING: When removing refrigeration system components, refrigeration pipes should be cut rather than un-
brazed wherever possible.
WARNING: Heat must NOT be applied to plastic components. When brazing pipe work a heat shield must be
used to prevent the possibility of damage.

The TX valve superheat must always be checked
and if necessary adjusted, as described in the
Component Replacement Procedures section.
Only personnel qualified and licensed to work with refrigerants may carry out
repair procedures on the sealed refrigeration system.
All work conducted must conform with the refrigeration code of practice. During
repair the refrigerant must be recovered, never vented to atmosphere.
The refrigeration system MUST be nitrogen purged whenever brazing is being
carried out. This includes nitrogen purging when removing refrigeration
components.
Is the discharge pressure low?

Is the TX valve operating?

Service. All printed copies are deemed uncontrolled.
Replace the controller.
1. Leak in refrigeration system – locate
and repair the leak.
2. Compressor inefficient – replace the
compressor.
Replace the TX valve.
1. Superheat setting incorrect – adjust
the TX valve as described in the
Component Replacement Procedures
section.
2. Restriction in refrigeration system –
locate and repair the restriction.
1. TX valve metering incorrectly –
adjust superheat setting or replace.
2. Restriction in refrigeration system –
locate and repair the restriction.
3. System overcharged with refrigerant
– reclaim the refrigerant, evacuate and
recharge with the correct quantity.
